FireStick updating automatically even though I turned it off?

I specifically went into the system settings and turned OFF 'Automatic Updates' because I like having my custom launcher (Wolf Launcher). Woke up this morning and the Fire OS had updated itself overnight and totally broke the custom launcher. How is it bypassing my settings?
