Best TiviMate Settings for Smooth Streaming
Optimise TiviMate for Maximum Performance
TiviMate's default settings work for most users, but these adjustments deliver noticeably smoother playback on Firestick and Android boxes.
Player Settings
- Video decoder — Start with Hardware. If you see black screens or freezing, switch to Software
- Buffer size — Set to 32MB for stable connections, 64MB if you experience occasional freezing
- Aspect ratio — Set to "Fit screen" to avoid black bars on widescreen channels
EPG Settings
- EPG days to load — 3 days is sufficient; loading 7+ days slows startup significantly
- Auto-update interval — Set to 12 or 24 hours; more frequent updates waste bandwidth
Channel Catch-Up
Enable catch-up in Settings → General → Catch-up. This allows watching broadcasts from the past 7 days on providers that support it. Look for the clock icon on channels that offer catch-up.
Favourites and Groups
Create custom channel groups for Sports, News, and Entertainment. Hide groups you never use (adult channels, foreign language channels) to keep the interface clean. Long-press any channel → Add to Favourites.
Startup Channel
Settings → General → Startup → select your most-watched channel. TiviMate will open directly to that channel instead of the channel list, saving navigation time.
