IPTV Black Screen Fix: Step-by-Step Solutions
Why IPTV Shows a Black Screen
A black screen with no video (but audio may play) is almost always a video decoding problem — either the player cannot decode the stream format, or there is a codec mismatch.
Fix 1: Switch Video Decoder
In TiviMate: Settings → Player → Player → switch between Hardware and Software decoding. In IPTV Smarters: Video Player Settings → change to a different player option. Try each option until video appears.
Fix 2: Use a Different Player
If TiviMate shows a black screen, try opening the same channel in VLC or MX Player. If it works in VLC, the issue is with TiviMate's decoder settings, not the stream itself.
Fix 3: Check HDCP Compliance
Some premium channels require HDCP (copy protection) compliance. If you are using an HDMI splitter or non-HDCP compliant display/cable, protected channels will show black screens. Remove any HDMI splitters and use a direct cable.
Fix 4: Update the App
An outdated IPTV player may not support newer stream codecs. Check for updates in the Play Store or download the latest APK from the official source.
Fix 5: Test the Stream Directly
Copy the stream URL and open it in VLC on a PC. If it plays on PC but not on your TV device, the issue is device-specific. If it fails on PC too, the stream URL is broken — contact your provider.
