HOW TO: Route only your IPTV device through a VPN (Split Tunneling on ASUS Routers)

If you want your Firestick to use a VPN to stop ISP throttling, but you don’t want your Xbox or work PC passing through the VPN and suffering higher ping times, you need to use VPN Split Tunneling on your router. Here’s how to do it with Asuswrt-Merlin firmware: 1. Log into your router, go to VPN -> VPN Client. 2. Configure your OpenVPN or Wireguard connection using your VPN provider's config file. 3. Scroll down to 'Force routing by policy' -> Enable it. 4. Change 'Block routed clients if tunnel goes down' to Yes (Killswitch). 5. Under 'Rules for routing client traffic', add your Firestick's IP address. Set the target to 'VPN'. 6. Add your PC/Xbox IP address. Set the target to 'WAN' (Bypasses VPN). 7. Apply settings.
